Creating Custom Radius Panels
Custom radius panels create a dynamic focal point…lending energy and movement to any interior.
At ILEX Woodworking, we’ve mastered the art of radius or curved panel creation and installation. Beginning in our engineering department, we prepare detailed shop drawings based on the architectural drawings…determining the panels’ construction method as well as the hanging or cleating system.
We then develop the template and build a wooden form that replicates the shape and curvature of the radiused wall. Using this form, the panels are typically fabricated from thin layers of a bendable or moldable substrate material and then laminated with the specified veneer.
Once the panels have dried, they are the exact shape of the wall where they will be installed. They are cut to the proper size, edge banded, sanded, sealed, stained and top coated with the specified finish.
Working from the initial cleating details, our expert installers are able to prepare the site and plumb and align the panel faces in a quick and efficient manner…producing beautiful results each and every time.
